Mission
The SPARK Library Media Center is a vibrant hub where we empower students to become curious, lifelong learners. Our mission is to provide every child with equitable access to a world of information—from classic print books and eBooks to cutting-edge iPads and digital databases. By creating an inviting space for exploration, we help students discover new ways to solve problems, pursue their personal interests, and develop a genuine, lasting love for reading.
In our library, we do more than just check out books; we teach students how to navigate an increasingly digital world. Our librarian works hand-in-hand with teachers to provide hands-on instruction in research and technology, ensuring students can accurately and safely use information. We are committed to promoting diversity and intellectual freedom, providing the tools and leadership necessary to help our students grow into confident, well-rounded thinkers in a global community.
SPARK Library & Learning Hub
Our library is a central part of the SPARK experience! Here is how our students engage with our resources and staff:
Scheduled Library Visits
SPARK students participate in scheduled library time bi-weekly.
-
Need to know your child's day? Please reach out to Mrs. Griffin or your child’s teacher with any questions regarding their next scheduled visit.
-
Stay Updated: Keep an eye on Seesaw for reminders about upcoming library days.
Extended Classroom Learning
In addition to their bi-weekly visits, students participate in collaborative lessons led by their classroom teacher and Mrs. Griffin. These sessions are designed to extend classroom learning and often include:
-
STEM Activities: Hands-on problem-solving and engineering challenges.
-
Research Skills: Learning how to find and cite reliable information.
-
Technology Lessons: Navigating digital tools and practicing good digital citizenship.
Open Circulation
Students don't have to wait for a scheduled visit to grab a new story!
-
Hours: Every day from 8:00 AM – 2:25 PM.
-
Access: Students are welcome to return finished books and check out new favorites during these hours.
